Papers of the Southard family of Louisville, Kentucky. In a letter dated 29 April 1832, Elizabeth Southard writes that her children attend the city school, although she does not like the large number of students or the distance from her home. On 3 June 1832, (after a bout of measles in the family), she removes her children from the city school and sends them to the enclosed academy. (See also related collections: Daniel R.
