Photocopy of a typed autobiography of Selena Galt Ingram covers her childhood in Louisville, Ky. to circa 1900. She records that her grandfather, Patrick Henry Pope, was the son of Elizabeth Thruston, the daughter of John Thruston and Elizabeth Whiting. She writes, "The older Thrustons were very fine people...an old Huguenot family." However, she adds, "The later generations are queer, high tempered people" who "think no one is quite as good as they are." She claims, "Some of them used to say, "God made three kinds of people; Thrustons, white people and black ones." (p. 14)
