Gray (possibly white at one time) star on blue background cut from the battle flag of the Ninth Kentucky Infantry Regiment, Confederate States Army. It was cut from the flag 6 May 1865, at Washington, GA when the Ninth and other Confederite forces surrendered. Sergeant Major John W. Green of the Ninth Kentucky writes the notation giving this information. Green also writes down a list of campaigns and engagements the Ninth KY participated in. The Ninth was part of the famous Orphan Brigade.
