This collection comprises letters, photographs and miscellany belonging to Marylin Ethel Goldberg Bornstein from her teenage years in Louisville and documenting affairs of the Goldbergs and Bermans, two Jewish families of Louisville. Most of the items are from 1954, the year Marylin graduated from Atherton high school. Included is a report on a 1954 "Youth Speaks" High school workshop conducted by the public, parochial, and private schools of Louisville and Jefferson County surveying students on topics such as social clubs, religion, and democracy; letters Marilyn's mother, Lilian Berman Goldberg wrote from to her from Louisville while Marilyn was visiting with her aunt and uncle Hannah Berman Scher and Herb Scher in Miami, FL, in July 1954, mostly discuss family news and clothing shopping. Also included are two group photographs (with identifications on the back) by Gus Frank from December, 1953 and June 1954 of the Amitie Jewish Sorority group in Louisville, an undated photograph (also by Gus Frank) ca. 1950 of: Carl K. Helman, Hugo Taustine, Sol Goldberg (Marilyn's father), and Herman Handmaker. Also included are legal notices from 1975 regarding disbursement of the Myer and Esther D. and Isaac Berman estates between Berman heirs. See Also: Mss. SB B736, Marilyn G.
