The collection consists of materials related to the construction and maintenance of the Levy Bros. building on West Market St. in Louisville, Ky. The building, completed in 1893 to house the Levy Bros. department store, was designed by Charles Julian Clarke and Arthur Loomis. The collection documents the acquisition of the land on which the building stands, as well as work done to the building in 1913 and 1914. Collection includes deeds, contracts, and documentation related to installation, exterior and interior maintenance on the building, elevators, display cases, electrical systems, and sprinklers. Also included are papers regarding city certifications, a credit rating, and an invitation to a staff appreciation event.
