Edison to Frederick Royce, dated at Menlo Park, N.J., May 9, 16 and 29, 1876, enquiring about his application for a patent on an electric pen, service of the Western Union Telegraph Company between New York and Chicago, End saying that he expects to send something to the Patent Office "that will make the teleghers eyes stick out a little."
