Three blueprints related to the 1936 WPA-sponsored restoration of the Ephriam McDowell House located in Danville, Kentucky. Two drawings depict the first and second floors of the McDowell home, where, in 1809, Dr. McDowell successfully removed an ovarian tumor from Jane Todd Crawford. His home marks the location of the first-ever sucessfuly preformed ovariotomy. The third drawing details the elevations and floor plan of Crawford's cabin, which is located in Green County, 60 miles southwest of the McDowell home.
