Collection includes correspondence, translations, manuscripts, etc. of Young E. Allison, III; and correspondence of his wife Margaret Tarrant Allison, their children, Young E. Allison, IV, and Margaret Allison Nightingale, and other Allison family members. Correspondence includes information on the 1937 flood, Eastern Kentucky, racial attitudes, World War II, and atomic weapons. The World War II letters are particularly interesting for their descriptions of WAVE and Army Air Force training during the war, and the contrast of social and housing conditions between commissioned and non-commissioned officers.
