Marshall moved to Kentucky in 1783 with several of his children and was the surveyor for the District of Ohio until 1797. His papers consist of a transcript of his 1798 will and his epitaph, and a newspaper clipping re: Marshall and his job as surveyor.(562) Thomas W. Bullitt compiled a list of historical references for his ancestor Col. Marshall.(340) Statement dated 25 February 1784 from Marshall, who was the surveyor of Fincastle County, re: Israel Christian registering his Kentucky land on the Sandy River. (406) Among William Marshall Bullitt's genealogical papers there were letters and papers re: research he had done on his ancestor Thomas Marshall. (2505-2506)
