Content
A photocopy of a book published for the family of Nathan Worley Grant in 1946. In the transcript of a letter dated 3 February 1862, Grant describes making a raid on Mammoth Cave where the proprietor of the Mammoth Cave Hotel had locked up all of his goods from the hotel before fleeing north to escape the war. Grant tells of what all they find in the cave and some of what was taken, including demijohns of fine bourbon. He took a fine mattress and a rug to use as a horse blanket.
