This collection includes material related to Gordon A. Seiffertt’s work researching and writing about the history of German churches in Louisville, specifically related to churches within the United Church of Christ denomination. Material throughout the collection relates to the history of specific churches and affiliated organizations within Louisville.

Biographical Note 

Gordon Allen Seiffertt was born November 18, 1938 in Evansville, Indiana to Raymond Henry Seiffertt and Ruby Jessie Seiffertt (née Parrott). Seiffertt attended Elmhurst College. In 1968, he married Carolyn Haag. Seiffertt worked as a pastor and as of 2021 remains an Honorary Pastor at St. John United Church of Christ (Louisville, Ky.)
