Papers include correspondence, 1906-1938, about the publication of Roberts’ articles about the building of Middlesboro, Ky., a proposed monument to Middlesboro’s founder Alexander A. Arthur, the defacement of Pinnacle Mountain at Cumberland Gap, and Roberts genealogy; drafts of his published articles; a 1 Dec. 1887 contract between the Cumberland Gap Tunnel Co., Louisville and Nashville Railroad Co., and Powell’s Valley Railroad Co. for building a tunnel through Cumberland Mountain; a report of a mass meeting of Middlesboro’s citizens, 1881 Mar. 19; and newspaper clippings regarding his articles, Col.
