Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of letter written by Cazwell Page to his future wife, Lucy Belle McCheney in 1909. Page is a hotel worker first at the Seelbach in Louisville and later the Hotel Jefferson in St. Louis. The letters mostly express his desire to see her and his hopes and plans for the future. The later material is some genealogical correspondence and newspaper articles about Otto Rothert and George Keats.
Historical/Biographical Note
Cazwell Page was working for the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville and courting Lucy McCheney in 1909. He briefly moves to St. Louis, Missouri to take a job at the Jefferson Hotel before coming back to Louisville to marry Lucy.
