Scope and Content Note
Personal and business papers of the Barbaroux and Picquet families, mainly in French; largely of Joseph Barbaroux, merchant of Shippingport and Louisville, Kentucky. Land papers and letters of a business nature to his uncle, Martin Picquet, merchant. Land papers and letters to Martin Picquet, dealing primarily with the Tombeckbee Association of Alabama, the group of French emigrants who settled near Demopolis. Individual correspondents include Alex Fournier, Louis Vimont, John E. Baumgarthen. Marriage and birth registrations of the Picquet family.
