Collection documents Dr. W. A. Bush's care of wounded and/or disabled World War I veterans during his time as Assistant Surgeon in the United States Public Health Service. Bush saw veterans of various races and branches of the military who lived primarily in the Kentucky counties of Clark, Madison, Estill, Montgomery, Menifee, Bath, Rowan, Morgan, and Wolfe from 1919-1921. A patient record book, 1919-1921, includes unit, rank, nature of wound or disability, age, race, occupation, and marital status (vol. 1). Two appointment ledgers track 1919-1921 patient examinations (vols. 2-3).
